BE BOLD TO TAKE YOUR PLACE
36 BE BOLD
“Few
are born bold; some become bold by experience and many live, eat and die with
cowardice”
When David heard of one stubborn,
uncultured, huge, threatening Philistine named Goliath, he wasn’t timid to take
the centre stage when the battle line was drawn. At a time he (David) knew the
fight wasn’t for weaklings neither was it for mediocre nor feeble minded hence,
he became brave as a true warrior that he was; inferiority complex left him,
forthwith strength gripped him and the balm of victory quicken his fainting
courage, then he began to see Goliath as an ordinary uncircumcised Lilliputian
from the tribe of Philistine.
You must practice and develop your
boldness, build your courage, enhance your skills and increase your source of
strength. Most of us are timid hence, we want to avoid tension by all means; and
dodge from obstacles that might lead to confusion or fears of failures. Above
all, we wished to be chosen and reverenced by all – All these required our
boldness, to open our doors of enviable greatness. Because a “Nation
on civilization that continues to produce soft-minded men, purchases its own
spiritual death on the installment plan” – Martin Luther. So “If
we want to achieve victory we should be ruthless” – Napoleon Bonaparte.
