ENHANCE YOUR SKILLS
Knowledge
(expertise) is the passport to get to stardom or fame; which in turn brings
wealth to the knowledgeable. More so, whenever we put our knowledge into
practice, the distance from our wealth land wouldn’t be too far. In fact, All
men by nature desire to know, which of course come by learning;
besides, “The greatest aim of education is not knowledge but action (by putting
into effective use)” – Herbert Spencer.
Indeed,
according to Shakespeare, “There’s no darkness but ignorance”, which invariably means that, we pay
higher for whatever we are ignorant of; because, the giver of the service(s) is
a professional with a sharpened skill. More so, “The more we learn, the more we
will realize how much we do, not know”, so let’s expedite actions in
making sure we enhance our skills or know-how, because it’s what that would
elevate us above our equals.
In fact,
if any one feels he/she was good in auto-mechanic, let’s say in the 1990’s and
wishes to use the techniques of then in fixing modern cars (vehicles); due to
old knowledge; it could give him more brain-cracking problems than he presumed;
because, most of the formats may have changed (such as it’s in the recent) due
to the fact that, there are more sophisticated car error detecting devices
(gadgets) such as troubleshooting, automated car error detecting machines etc
which helps to easily send signals of defaulting parts of the vehicle to the
knowledge of the mechanic. Moreover, the same thing happen in all areas of life
endeavours; but when we increase our learning pace, by attending
skill-enhancing-seminars, workshops etc yet, put our learnt skills into regular
practice – just like they say practice breed perfection.
In as
much as we know, the most successful people today are those who had practiced
their trained profession excellently. For example Philip Emeagwali, didn’t develop
or redesigned the supercomputer that calculates multi-billion equations in a
second neither did he enhanced the speed and performance of the internet
overnight; nor did Bill Gates turned a computer wizard merely by praying without
working; rather they both worked hard by putting into action (practice) what
they have been trained for.
Moreover,
if you are a step or two behind your counterparts in the same line of business
or career; you are sure to be overshadowed by regrets and sorrows, due to the
fact that you are not going to make any headway since you failed to increase
your learning pace by enhancing your knowledge. In other words, you will
continue to work for your successful counterparts—thereby, losing all the
dreams you once had, simply because you are ill-equipped, obsolete knowledge
etc.
