HOPING IN PAINS
Nigeria, my
Nigeria!
Where had thou
been?
Wish we could
embrace or kiss your love once more
A fountain of
tourism with beautiful picturesque
Friendliness and
cultural heritage unlimited
The overwhelming
colours of cascading waterfalls
The rosy scents
of sun flowers
Captivating
insects from near and far
From the undulating
hills of unity
To the
wonder-sea-lands’ warmth
Stretching from
one end of island to the charming tributaries
From the Jos
Plateau to another Delta in Niger
From the
promising infancy till another brighter adulthood
Working from
yesterday till another blessed tomorrow
In silence,
we’ve cried helplessly
In tears, our
hearts are soaked
In war, we were
born, in fears we have been raised
