CORRUPT GIANTS
A nation crippled in the hands of
poverty
And perpetrated by
the get-rich-quick syndrome
And ill-educated
school leavers in surplus
Half-baked
youths rendezvous aimlessly
What a nation,
dancing into doom helplessly
Wholly,
entangled by lawlessness
Citizen’s life en-grafted into chaos
Greed had been
engraved in their psyche
Day after day,
with strength yet Africans get weaker
Nigerians, O!
Nigerians
Why are we so
sure we’re fair?
Blessed or
empowered?
Our lands, with
multitude of endued minerals
Beforehand, our
financial status enervating
On the fountain
of water, we’ve built our tents
Yet, a cup of
water we beg for, from Outsiders
Our mother in
her kitchen refining oil
On a daily
basis, our lamps go off for no fuel
Of agriculture,
we preach day and night
Just our
immediate family, we can’t feed
