NATIONAL FEVER
Like a fever,
the Nigeria situation makes us shiver
Her unrepentant
madness gives our hearts quivers
Like a disease,
it has contaminated us for so long
Its contacts are
like a snake’s venom so poisonous
Slowly, with
ease it kills contagiously
The strength of
her economy is warning so quickly
Like a sleeping
pilot whose plane is already crashing
Slowly, like a
sailor it sinks in pains
Yet,
recalcitrance and nonchalance had wrecked her ships
Like the world
Trade centre, her policies are falling
The health
ministry is nothing to write home about
The power sector
is degenerating to not
Her road
counterparts is better dead than living
The water
ministry is shamelessly blowing her trumpet
When no Nigerian
drinks water from the government source
The power
company workers had become importers of generators
Is it the
education? Which is ebbing faster than a leper’s health?
