DYING AND SMILING
The joys of
Africans are dwindling
Like a tale,
before sun away fading
Before morrow,
Nigerians’ pride will peter
Like a petal,
would away quickly wither
Can’t you feel
the wind of poverty?
Can’t you smell
the scents of betrayal?
Can’t you taste
the tastes of ill wind?
Blowing from the
west sweeping east?
Carrying sounds
of collusion and confusion?
Between wayo and
wuruwuru
The God-forsaken leaders
and praise-singing followers
Never-do-well
Senators and self centred Representatives
The wicked
executive and the lying-lips judiciary
Amidst the
ibelekuic judiciary and the devil’s bidding legislature
For the sake of
Ghana-must-go they go fighting
The land of our
forefathers
Wonderfully
created, yet enslaved
Like a failure,
endangered by pride
Wrecked by die-hard electronic bandits
and devilish fierce-looking monsters
